Last week brought a mix of updates from the team. While some of the planned SAGE changes were rolled out—albeit later than expected—others remain in the pipeline. The team has returned from the holidays and wasted no time getting back to work. While they’ve been busy squashing bugs, the highlight of the week was a statement from Michael (CEO). In his update, he addressed the ongoing challenges with SAGE on Solana and shared his thoughts on—and his preferred solution to— shielding the game from future Solana disturbances. Meanwhile, the Golden Carnival continued uninterrupted through the holiday season, with three more drawings taking place over the past weeks. And just before Christmas, there was a surprise drop of the long-awaited Ship Part bundles, bringing an extra bit of holiday cheer to the Star Atlas players!

The last workweek of the year—at least for the team—is behind us, and it sure was a big one! Beyond the Town Hall reveals, the Econ team released both their latest Quarterly Report and their brand new Ecosystem Dashboard! Furthermore, the team dropped a skin to SAGE Labs players; the Golden Carnival is entering its 8th week, and that is not even all!

The past week was a big one; the team launched Local Markets and the new RFR replacement, Faction Infrastructure Contracts! Together, these features represent the new Dawn of the Freighter update to SAGE. In other news, a new partnership has been announced, and of course, the Golden Carnival is still going full steam ahead. Last but definitely not least, the team is hosting an end-of-year Town Hall this Wednesday!

This past week saw a heavy focus on Local Markets and RFRs, with both the Atlas Brew and Economic Forum focusing on these upcoming features. New alpha was also shared, which you can read all about below! In addition, The Golden Carnival wrapped up the fifth week of drawings, with the sixth week having started. And then, there are some brand new sneak peeks to wrap things up! Though the team has not yet confirmed a date, it looks like an end-of-year, Town Hall-like event (no expected releases) will take place shortly before the team starts their yearly 2-week X-mas holiday!

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #158

This week in Star Atlas, we marked a major milestone with the first MEGA Week of this year’s Golden Carnival! Alongside the festivities, the team introduced a few significant updates to SAGE, adjusting scanning mechanics to slow down the process and reduce the need for Solana transactions. Additionally, responding to longstanding community requests, the MUD faction saw a reshuffling of resources across four systems. And to top it all off, the team launched its first-ever Black Friday sale!

The YGG Summit and Community meetup were a total blast! For those at home, the 3rd week of the Golden Carnival was probably their highlight for last week. That said, for those more politically inclined, the Atlas Brew with the Council and the launch of the DAO Knowledge Base may have stolen the show.

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #156

The Golden Carnival wrapped up its second week, and the team rolled out a small update to the POLIS Locker for (community) developers who want to use multi-sig. More interestingly, the team has partnered with the Gamified Web3-gaming show (on X), and Michael is currently touring Southeast Asia!

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #155

The past week saw the first Golden Carnival raffle of the 2624 season! Meanwhile, ticket submissions for this second week have opened up. More newsworthy, we feel, however, are the reveals on upcoming gameplay from the economic team. If you want to learn more about Local Markets and RFRs, then look no further! Otherwise, not much has happened, so we’ll keep this one short and to the point.

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #154

Last week started off quietly, but everything changed when the team launched the much-anticipated Golden Carnival on Friday! This exciting, 16-week-long event easily took center stage, and as a result—and lack of other news— this week’s issue is almost entirely dedicated to all things Carnival!

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #153

We had a very quiet week, with no official (minor) announcements of any kind. Fortunately, the team shared some great visuals, Michael (CEO) was interviewed, and the Starvlog team released part 1 of their Singapore Report!

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #152

We had a very quiet week, so we’ll keep it short today. The most prominent news will be the changes rolled out in SAGE Labs: Starbased, affecting Fleet Destruction and SDU Scanning. Besides that, the Atlas Brew interview with Francesca is worth watching! To wrap this issue up, we share a community question regarding in-game labor markets along with the responses from Danny (CPO) and Michael (CEO).

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #151

After a month-long election process, the first Star Atlas DAO Council has been chosen! There were some last-minute surprises, likely the result of the debate that took place two days before the second round of voting closed. In other news, the Golden Ticket recipe for 2024 has been revealed.

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #150

We had another quiet post-IMPACT week regarding Star Atlas news. We received a new Economic Report for Q3 of 2024, and an interesting Economic Forum session followed up on that this past Thursday. The DAO Council elections are also going strong, with the voting deadline coming up this Friday! Finally, we wrap this issue up with a follow-up of last week’s dialogue regarding community concerns. This time, Michael (CEO) stepped in to shed some light on the various topics. Though it’s a long read, we feel it is worth sharing with you!

After the whirlwind that was IMPACT, the dust slowly settled again. Most team members are back home, and everyone is eager to release cool stuff over the coming months. Logically, news has been slow this past week, but we picked some tidbits for you! The biggest item is no doubt that Round 2 of the Council Elections has started! Furthermore, we now have the official list of Naabathon winners and some additional notes on the IMPACT Summit itself. Lastly, there was some back-and-forth between concerned community members and Danny (CPO), which we included at the end as Danny’s answers are insightful and worth sharing.

Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #148

The IMPACT Summit is a wrap! The Breakpoint side conference, organized by ATMTA, is over, and many team members and most community members have been making their way back home or are about to. The event was well executed, without any delay, and mostly without technical issues. But that is not all that happened–despite perhaps feeling that way when you are present in this bubble for a full week. The Naabathon winners were announced on stage during IMPACT, and so were the 12 DAO Council candidates who made it to the final voting round.

Crew Cards are live in SAGE Starbased, and Round 1 of the Council Election is underway! Meanwhile, a good chunk of the team is making their (lengthy) way to Singapore! Weekly Star Atlas Newsletter #145

With the Star Atlas IMPACT Summit rapidly approaching, the past week has been very light on news. Nevertheless, the Council elections are in full swing, with the past Atlas Brew being dedicated to interviewing all the candidates. We also unearthed some never-before-seen concept art. Lastly, circling back to the IMPACT Summit, the team released a few new details!
